Senior Product Engineer (Backend) - Developer Products - Remote

Overview

Kota is making insurance and retirement benefits as accessible as modern software. We do this across the Kota Platform - the world’s first fully integrated benefits platform and Kota Embed - our embedded insurance and retirement product for platforms.

In Short

• Drive innovation by building and enhancing products to scale Kota’s API and embed products.
• Collaborate closely with teams across Kota to refine procedures for excellent customer experiences.
• Own incident management and serve as an incident responder for technical issues.
• Research, design, and implement enhancements that strengthen products and processes.
• Architect and build new features for customer-facing APIs and SDKs.
• Transform inefficient internal workflows into self-service features.
• Lead technical efforts to resolve customer-reported issues.
• 8+ years in building backend systems with expertise in .NET, SQL databases, and cloud experience.
• Experience with building API products in fintech or benefits is a plus.
• Availability for at least 5 hours of overlap with GMT working hours.

Requirements

• 8+ years in backend system development.
• Proficiency in .NET, SQL databases, and ORM frameworks.
• Cloud experience with Azure or AWS.
• Experience in fintech, payroll, or benefits is a plus.
• Collaborative mindset and problem-solving skills.
• Direct collaboration with product teams and designers.
