In Short

• Staff-level position in the Datto Endpoint Backup product group.
• Drive architectural direction and lead complex cross-team initiatives.
• Mentor engineers and ensure systems are scalable and resilient.
• 8+ years of experience building large-scale backend systems.
• Expertise in Golang and deep experience with gRPC and REST APIs.
• Strong knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, and Cassandra.
• Experience with microservices and distributed systems architecture.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills required.
• Knowledge of testing methodologies and experience building observable systems.
• Comfortable working across Windows and Linux environments.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience building large-scale backend systems.
• Proficiency in Golang or comparable languages.
• Experience with designing and evolving REST APIs and gRPC.
• Strong command of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Demonstrated experience with PostgreSQL and Cassandra.
• Ability to evaluate trade-offs across scalability and performance.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerized services.
• Strong communication skills to articulate complex concepts.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading cross-team initiatives.
• Knowledge of testing methodologies including unit and integration testing.
