Lead Events Specialist - Remote

Overview

INTECON, LLC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Lead Events Specialist to support AFWERX’s Strategic Communications and Events Team. This role is responsible for coordinating, planning, and managing specialized events and high-profile engagements that advance the AFWERX mission to accelerate technology transition.

In Short

• Plan and manage high-profile engagements and events with government, industry, and academia stakeholders.
• Oversee all logistical aspects of events, including venue selection and transportation.
• Develop detailed event timelines and schedules.
• Ensure events align with AFWERX branding and communication strategy.
• Provide on-site event management and troubleshooting.
• Manage event budgets and ensure compliance with funding guidelines.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for timely delivery of services.
• Collaborate with leadership to promote events and drive participation.
• Ensure adherence to military protocol during events.
• Conduct post-event evaluations to assess effectiveness.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in event planning and program coordination.
• Proven experience managing complex, large-scale events.
• Experience planning virtual or hybrid events.
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with project management tools.
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote organization.
• Strong problem-solving and crisis management skills.
• Active Secret Clearance required.
