Overview

Instawork is seeking an intellectually curious and pragmatic Commercial Counsel to join our growing legal team. As the third full-time lawyer, you will play a crucial role in closing deals, providing legal advice, and supporting various departments in a rapidly scaling company.

In Short

• Partner with Sales and Finance to close customer deals
• Review, redline, and approve sales agreements, vendor agreements, and NDAs
• Build and update playbooks and template documents
• Support corporate development team in due diligence
• Develop scalable processes for the legal team
• Improve sales team training
• Review and revise company policies
• Advise on privacy and compliance issues
• Handle other projects as needed

Requirements

• JD and California bar admission in good standing
• 5+ years of legal experience in a law firm
• Detail- and process-oriented mentality
• Mature judgment and decision-making skills
• Ability to translate complex concepts
• Team mentality
• Composure managing multiple projects
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Sense of perspective and humor
• Nice to have: privacy and product counseling experience

• Base salary of $175,000 - $225,000
