Overview

The Patient Intake Advocate works within the Patient Intake Business Unit and is the key individual responsible for receiving and submitting orders, while ensuring they follow all applicable accreditation, compliance/regulatory processes, Inogen policy, and Payor guidelines.

In Short

  • Professionally handle high volume of incoming/outgoing calls for rental orders and insurance referrals.
  • Validate information gathered by Customer Development Representatives.
  • Understand payor specific guidelines for patient onboarding.
  • Communicate expectations and timeframes to new patients.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain patient documents in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Provide timely follow-up to patients and referral sources.
  • Manage multiple work lists and responsibilities.
  • Stay updated on payor guidelines.
  • Process new rental orders following Inogen and payor guidelines.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good time management skills and ability to prioritize.
  • Detail-oriented and analytical.
  • Experience with CRM platforms, preferably Salesforce or Oracle.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry, preferably Medicare guidelines.
  • Associates degree in Communications or related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in Medicare Oxygen/DME Billing or Insurance Billing.
  • Experience working with Medical Sales personnel required.
  • Intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
