We are seeking a senior backend software engineer with experience building scalable and robust systems to improve our fraud and abuse detection capabilities. As part of a cross-functional team of exceptional engineers and product managers, you will develop new features and provide best-in-class support to help our partners scale their businesses.

In Short

• Design, build and review code for our fraud and abuse backend platform
• Iterate on features using Scala and technologies within GCP
• Ship your first code in days, iterating on features in an agile manner
• Operate autonomously but work closely with engineers and PMs
• Collaborate cross-functionally with the product team and other Hopper teams
• Emphasize strong alignment and asynchronous decision making

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience building scalable backend systems
• A strong understanding of distributed systems
• Ability to work with minimal guidance and handle uncertainty
• Experience in cross-functional teams
• Prior experience in the payments and fraud space is a plus
