Senior Legal Counsel - Remote

Overview

Hitachi Energy USA has an opening for Senior Legal Counsel. This position can be either located in Raleigh or fully remote, providing legal advice and counsel while implementing global strategy within the area of legal affairs.

In Short

• Provide legal advice and counsel to management across a broad range of legal issues.
• Draft and negotiate various types of commercial and complex agreements.
• Participate in Risk Reviews according to Company directives.
• Anticipate and identify legal issues of concern to management.
• Ensure good corporate governance and support integrity training.
• Manage outside counsel and provide legal training for employees.
• Act with initiative and independence to recommend appropriate actions.
• Monitor applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and decision-making ability.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school and bar admission in North Carolina or other State Bar.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to present pragmatic legal advice.
• Experience with product liability and commercial litigation.
• Sound legal judgment and ability to handle sensitive information.
• Understanding of business matters and technical concepts.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
