Overview

The Patient Access Coordinator I is responsible for scheduling, pre-registration, and financial clearance processes within Patient Access, ensuring that patients understand their financial responsibilities and have a positive experience.

In Short

  • Completes scheduling and pre-registration functions.
  • Validates patient demographic data and verifies medical benefits.
  • Identifies and documents patient financial responsibilities.
  • Conducts insurance verification and follows up on authorization requirements.
  • Delivers excellent patient experience and maintains relationships.
  • Meets productivity standards and recommends performance enhancements.
  • Adheres to organizational policies and completes mandatory training.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1-3 months related experience or training preferred.
  • Experience in a medical or financial services setting is a plus.
  • Proficient in operating a PC and using software applications.
  • Understanding of medical terminology and insurance verifications.
  • Experience in a call/service center environment preferred.
