Overview

The Certified Medical Assistant/Float position involves assisting healthcare providers in coordinating patient care and performing various clinical and clerical tasks to support office operations.

In Short

  • Assist in coordinating patient care under supervision.
  • Prepare and room patients for clinical visits.
  • Obtain and document patient vital signs and history.
  • Administer and document medications as per policy.
  • Perform back office testing and clerical functions.
  • Ensure adequate inventory of medical supplies.
  • Float between various physician office locations.
  • Adhere to HIPAA and company compliance standards.
  • Complete certification training within specified timeline.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of instruments.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant Program or relevant experience.
  • CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Criminal background clearance certificates.
  • Ability to perform clinical duties such as injections and EKGs.
  • Certification from recognized Medical Assistant bodies.
  • Preferred Associate's Degree.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to follow protocols and procedures.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR).
