Associate Lab Technician - Remote

Overview

The Associate Lab Technician is responsible for receiving, preparing, and processing specimens delivered to the laboratory, as well as managing patient registrations and test orders.

In Short

• Receives and processes laboratory specimens.
• Registers patients and performs test order entry.
• Verifies specimen identification according to protocols.
• Maintains cleanliness and adequate supplies in the lab.
• Answers telephone inquiries and provides support.
• Mentors medical assistant students in specimen processing.

Requirements

• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred: Graduate of a medical assistant or phlebotomy program.
• Ability to accurately enter data into laboratory systems.
• Strong communication skills for telephone inquiries.
• Knowledge of laboratory protocols and procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean work environment.
• Familiarity with health insurance and healthcare delivery systems.
• Understanding of patient care and safety standards.
