Overview

The Director of Advancement and Strategic Fundraising develops programs and strategies to identify, cultivate, track, and solicit alumni, parents, foundations, corporations, businesses, and friends of Heidelberg for gifts to fund institutional priorities.

• Represents Heidelberg University in cultivating and soliciting major gifts.
• Manages a portfolio of up to 150 prospects.
• Identifies and cultivates donors through various communication methods.
• Develops segmentation strategies to increase donor engagement.
• Oversees fundraising policies and campaigns.
• Partners with Athletics for fundraising initiatives.
• Recruits and educates volunteers for fundraising efforts.
• Utilizes software to track donor interactions.
• Monitors performance metrics related to fundraising activities.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
• 3-5 years of successful fundraising experience.
• Thorough knowledge of fundraising principles.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Experience with donor management software.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to develop strategies for donor engagement.
• Ability to relate to diverse groups.
