Legal Counsel Data Protection - Remote

Overview

We are looking for a Legal Counsel Data Protection to join our central corporate data protection team, either at our Freiburg location or in home office.

In Short

• Advise departments and subsidiaries on data protection requirements, especially regarding product and service compliance.
• Create, review, and negotiate data protection contracts, such as processing agreements and joint controller agreements.
• Conduct legal assessments as part of a central risk assessment process and evaluate data protection risks with external services and developments.
• Prepare opinions on current legal issues, requiring creativity and innovative solutions.
• Support the development, review, and implementation of data protection documentation.

Requirements

• Completed law degree (fully qualified lawyer) in Germany.
• Technical affinity with a good understanding of software and data flows.
• Solid knowledge of national and European data protection law, ideally with a CIPP/E certification.
• Experience in a similar position, preferably in an in-house team of a software company or law firm.
• Very good German and English skills (minimum C1).
