Overview

The Hatcher Group is seeking a strategic, results-driven, and mission-focused Business Development Manager to lead and expand our business development pursuits. This role is responsible for driving strategic growth, managing high-value capture efforts, and overseeing proposal development operations.

In Short

  • Lead cross-sector collaboration to identify, prioritize, and shape business opportunities.
  • Oversee the full capture lifecycle from opportunity identification to proposal submission.
  • Partner with sector leads to develop compelling win themes and competitive positioning.
  • Direct proposal operations ensuring high-quality technical, pricing, and compliance reviews.
  • Optimize and manage business development systems, including CRM and internal workflows.
  • Negotiate teaming agreements and manage partner relationships.
  • Mentor the growth team, including proposal specialists and coordinators.
  • Champion continuous improvement across business development functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of progressive business development experience.
  • Industry training or certification such as Shipley or APMP.
  • Senior-level presence with dynamic facilitation skills.
  • Distinguished writing expertise in delivering strategic content.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
  • Strong work ethic and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal clients on proposals.
  • Flexibility to adapt to high-priority needs.
  • Experience working under pressure with deadlines.
