Overview

This position is part of the Workers’ Compensation actuarial pricing team, responsible for managing internal indications and supporting various actuarial studies for The Hartford’s $3B+ Workers’ Compensation business.

In Short

  • Lead the actuarial team for Workers’ Compensation indications.
  • Collaborate with the Actuarial Strategic Modeling team.
  • Communicate changes in indications to stakeholders.
  • Drive adoption of innovative predictive modeling use cases.
  • Manage annual updates of actuarial studies.
  • Build expertise in Workers’ Compensation issues and trends.
  • Proficient in Excel and coding skills (ResQ, R/Python, SQL).
  • Demonstrate analytical skills and creative solutions.
  • Strong communication skills for technical concepts.
  • Results-driven with a commitment to meeting deadlines.

Requirements

  • FCAS preferred, but not required.
  • 5+ years of actuarial experience.
  • Management experience preferred.
  • Experience with Workers’ Compensation and predictive modeling preferred.
  • Strong technical and data skills.
  • Proactive individual who challenges existing processes.
  • Ability to influence others and drive processes to conclusion.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
