Overview

The Senior Systems Engineer will play a crucial role in the Engine Oil and Thermal System team at General Motors, focusing on system requirements, calibration standards, and control system development.

In Short

  • Responsible for system functionality allocation to implementation teams.
  • Define system requirements and ensure compliance with safety and reliability standards.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert in Engine Oil and Thermal systems.
  • Support the development of calibration procedures and best practices.
  • Lead technical discussions and provide mentoring to team members.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to optimize control system performance.
  • Analyze and root cause subsystem-related issues.
  • Contribute to Agile Release Train and control system design.
  • Assist in program issue resolution and lead calibration technical reviews.
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering fields.
  • 5+ years of calibration or controls experience.
  • DFSS Black Belt Certification.
  • Strong background in propulsion system calibration.
  • High level of communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work with limited direction.
  • Proficiency in analytical problem solving.
  • Knowledge of Agile development processes preferred.
  • Must be legally able to drive in North America.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional partners.
