Senior Systems Engineer - Remote

Overview

The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for providing Engineering support for Large Scale products and their application at a system level, maintaining expert knowledge of all Large-Scale Products and troubleshooting system level problems.

In Short

• Provides technical expertise for SMA’s Large Scale products.
• Familiarization with third-party equipment in PV, Battery, or Power to Gas power plants.
• Engineering support for complex issues to technical support teams.
• Advanced electrical theory for technical escalations/investigations.
• Represents the Service Department as a technical expert.
• Troubleshoots complex system failures in the field.
• Develops and maintains a database for technical information dissemination.
• Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering; master's preferred.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience required.
• Ability to work nonstandard hours occasionally.

Requirements

• 5 Years Experience in PV systems, Battery Storage, Plant communications, Medium Voltage products.
• Experience in the renewable industry is preferred.
• Knowledge of SCADA systems and PLCs is preferred.
• Advanced skills in communication protocols (Modbus, DNP, etc.).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in English; German/Spanish is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
