GeneDx, the world’s leading genomics diagnostics company, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer/Bioinformatician for our Bioinformatics Platform team.

In Short

• Work with engineers and bioinformaticians to improve bioinformatics software.
• Lead technical design and implementation efforts.
• Collaborate with data scientists and software engineers.
• Own strategic initiatives and coordinate work.
• Find resourceful solutions to complex problems.
• Develop novel bioinformatics algorithms and products.
• Participate in software quality testing and validation.
• Contribute to team development roadmaps and sprint planning.
• Ensure adherence to software development best practices.
• Produce high-quality, well-documented code.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Python and other similar languages.
• Experience with API calls and ETL functions.
• Familiarity with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Ability to lead and coordinate complex projects.
• Experience in developing bioinformatics algorithms.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration.
• Knowledge of bioinformatics pipeline scalability.
• Experience in CAP/CLIA regulated settings.
• PhD preferred.
