Trust Accountant - Remote

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Trust Accountant to join our finance team in Australia. This is a key position supporting our financial operations and trust account compliance across the business. You’ll ensure that trust accounting is handled efficiently, transparently, and in accordance with all relevant Australian regulations.

In Short

• Process daily trust account receipts and reconcile transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain trust ledgers and monitor all inbound/outbound funds against contract terms.
• Prepare and issue Account Sale Tax invoices to stakeholders.
• Assist in settlement fund disbursements, liaising with vendor solicitors to ensure accurate transfers.
• Support audits and liaise with auditors to maintain full regulatory compliance.
• Support the operational shift from Agentbox to REX CRM, ensuring smooth data transfer and system adoption.
• Maintain detailed records within trust software and CRM systems.
• Assist in preparing financial reports and documents for auditing purposes.
• Work closely with agents, conveyancers, and finance colleagues to maintain accurate financial flows.
• Independent worker with solid time management skills.

Requirements

• Experience in real estate trust accounting (essential)
• In-depth knowledge of Australian trust accounting regulations
• Familiarity with reconciliation, settlement processes, and software tools
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail in managing financial data
• Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with solicitors, agents, and stakeholders
• Independent worker with solid time management skills
