Staff Accountant - Remote

Overview

As a Staff Accountant based in Japan, you will be joining a dynamic and forward-thinking team, fully remote with the flexibility to work from anywhere in Japan.

In Short

• Handle all daily accounting operations, including recording journal entries and reconciling accounts.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, vendor payments, and staff reimbursements.
• Perform monthly and year-end close processes, preparing trial balances and variance analyses.
• Ensure local tax compliance, including VAT and corporate tax filings.
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
• Support audit preparation with organized documentation.
• Take ownership of intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Manage expense reporting and ensure adherence to financial policies.
• Assist in Oracle Fusion eXp local setup and ensure compliance with Japan accounting standards.
• Prepare periodic financial reports for management review.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting and general ledger close process.
• Strong understanding of local GAAP accounting principles.
• Experience with Oracle Fusion ERP is highly desirable.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, with advanced skills preferred.
