1st Cook - Remote Camp

Overview

The 1st Cook plays a key role in executing the daily dinner service in a camp setting, ensuring quality standards are met while leading the culinary team.

In Short

• Responsible for preparing feature proteins for dinner service.
• Handle preparation and timely service of meals.
• Supervise kitchen staff during meal preparation.
• Ensure proper food storage and rotation.
• Work in a remote camp setting with provided accommodations.
• Follow production quotas and menu guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
• Participate in a rotational schedule of 2 weeks on/2 weeks off.
• Must pass a Criminal Background Check.
• Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.

Requirements

• Previous cooking experience required.
• Current Food Safe certificate is mandatory.
• Experience in large scale camp cooking is an asset.
• Red Seal certification preferred.
• Supervisory experience in a kitchen setting is preferred.
• High standards for cleanliness and organization.
• Ability to handle physical demands of the job.
