1st Cook - Northwestern Ontario Remote Camp Operations

Overview

The First Cook plays a key role in executing the daily dinner service with support from the culinary team, ensuring quality standards are met in a remote camp setting.

In Short

• Responsible for preparing feature proteins for dinner service.
• Supervise kitchen staff in meal preparation and serving.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards.
• Coordinate meal preparation according to client schedules.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
• Handle and prepare food in accordance with approved methods.
• Work in a rotational schedule of 2 weeks on/2 weeks off.
• Travel provided to and from site locations.
• All meals and accommodations are included.
• Experience in large scale camp cooking is preferred.

Requirements

• Previous cooking experience required.
• Must have a current Food Safe certificate.
• Large scale camp cooking experience is an asset.
• Red Seal or other certifications is an asset.
• Experience in supervising a team is preferred.
• High standards in maintaining a clean kitchen.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
