Vice President of People (m/f/d) - Remote

Overview

The German Relief Association e.V. is currently in the founding phase. We are building a nationwide structure that combines economic viability, social impact, and organizational excellence. To turn vision into structure, we need people who take responsibility, recognize potential, and strategically develop teams.

In this key phase, we are looking for you as Vice President of People (m/f/d) to build, manage, and sustainably shape the entire personnel structure in a voluntary capacity and, prospectively, in a full-time capacity.

Important: This position is voluntary and not subject to social insurance contributions. However, it offers you the opportunity to help shape the personnel strategy of a nationwide organization from the beginning and to take on a key role in the operational leadership team in the medium term.

In Short

• Develop a structured personnel concept for voluntary, full-time, and project-based work.
• Build professional recruiting processes, including job postings, selection procedures, and onboarding.
• Design voluntary contracts, role profiles, career systems, and competency models.
• Advise the board on team structure, leadership models, collaboration, and role distribution.
• Develop a people strategy that fosters trust, responsibility, and performance readiness in voluntary work.
• Introduce digital tools for managing and developing the personnel structure.
• Conceive training offerings, retention formats, and feedback processes.

Requirements

• A degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business, or Social Sciences.
• Several years of experience in personnel strategy, HR management, or organizational development.
• Solid knowledge in recruiting, personnel processes, contract design, and strategic HR work.
• Experience with voluntary structures, hybrid teams, or non-profit organizations is an advantage.
• Structured thinking, high communication skills, and empathetic leadership behavior.
• Willingness to contribute strategically and operationally in a voluntary environment.
