Expedited Review Specialist - Human Resource Protection Office - Remote

Overview

The Expedited Review Specialist is responsible for reviewing all research involving human subjects conducted by WashU faculty/staff/students and affiliated institutions, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.

In Short

• Review biomedical and behavioral research studies.
• Identify compliance issues for expedited approval.
• Communicate with investigators throughout the review process.
• Maintain knowledge of current regulations and guidelines.
• Conduct educational presentations for the research community.
• Serve as a primary reviewer and voting member of the IRB.
• Provide guidance to research coordinators and investigators.
• Participate in quality assurance and improvement assessments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work in a normal office environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Certified IRB Professional (CIP) status preferred.
• Experience in Human Subject Research and Clinical Trials preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and adaptable to changing regulations.
• Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
• Familiarity with Code of Federal Regulations and HIPAA.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Public speaking experience is a plus.
• 1 year of relevant work experience preferred.
