Overview

The Siteman Cancer Center is seeking an organized and motivated individual to join the Molecular Specimen Processing Group within the Tissue Procurement Core (TPC) shared resource laboratory.

In Short

  • Responsible for laboratory tasks supporting cancer and biomedical research.
  • Isolate nucleic acids from human tissue and fluid biospecimens.
  • Perform routine assays and instrument maintenance.
  • Participate in problem-solving and technical assistance as needed.
  • Assist with validation of new assays and compile data.
  • Comply with regulatory and client requirements.
  • Demonstrate understanding of assay methods and clinical relevance.
  • Engage in continuing education relevant to the position.
  • Assist with special projects as required.
  • Work in a normal office environment with potential travel.

Requirements

  • Associate degree required.
  • No specific certification required.
  • Experience in a laboratory environment preferred.
  • Strong clerical accuracy and organization skills.
  • Basic understanding of computer applications necessary.
  • Detail-oriented and able to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to collaborate within a team.
  • Skills in troubleshooting and equipment maintenance.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements.
  • Motivated to work in a fast-paced environment.
