Overview

The Sales Engineer (SE) - SLED is a technical sales support position responsible for orchestrating pre-sales engagement to current and prospective clients including State, Local and Higher Education and Educational Healthcare.

In Short

  • Work as part of the account team to formulate territory plans and sales strategies.
  • Build positive relationships with external partners and internal departments.
  • Engage with senior level IT leadership to qualify key issues.
  • Drive detailed Technical Account Plans for focus targets and current customers.
  • Collaborate on presentations and case creation for business sponsors.
  • Propose and demonstrate Commvault products through various methods.
  • Participate in Sales and regional meetings, contributing technical leadership.
  • Provide technical expertise for channel and alliance partners.
  • Continuously develop technical and market expertise.
  • Assist with product or process improvements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in the software or storage industry; 3+ years in a pre-sales role.
  • Experience delivering and supporting Enterprise/Commercial Clients.
  • Strong competitive knowledge and experience with data management solutions.
  • Ability to work in a rapid growth environment.
  • Proficient with Salesforce.com for process organization.
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Sales methodology experience (MEDDIC, TAS, SPIN, etc.).
  • Able to work remotely and autonomously.
  • Travel up to 50%.
