Community Coordinator - Remote

Overview

The Community Coordinator will manage day-to-day press operations and serve as a spokesperson for the NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP), focusing on community engagement and media relations.

In Short

• Manage day-to-day press operations for DCWP.
• Respond to media requests and compose press materials.
• Lead community events and outreach initiatives.
• Coordinate with community and ethnic media.
• Prepare staff for media interviews and events.
• Develop and maintain media lists.
• Create daily news roundups summarizing press coverage.
• Work with elected officials and community organizations.
• Draft, edit, and finalize external communications.
• Other duties as needed.

Requirements

• Baccalaureate degree and two years of community work experience, or
• High school diploma and six years of community work experience, or
• Equivalent education and/or experience.
• At least one year of relevant experience required.
