• Lead and grow a team of high-performing research scientists.

• Design and run evaluation frameworks for product readiness.
• Guide technical direction in foundational model development.
• Partner cross-functionally to translate research into product impact.
• Represent Canva in the global AI community.

Requirements

• Experience leading research or applied science teams.
• Expert knowledge of GANs, Diffusion Models, VAEs, and Autoregressive Models.
• Hands-on expertise in training and evaluating generative models.
• Ability to create data-driven evaluation methodologies.
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Passion for continuous learning and staying current with research trends.
