Senior Software Engineer - Remote

Overview

Benepass is scaling rapidly, and the complexity of our product surface demands senior engineers who can bridge product vision and technical execution. This role exists to own the “zero-to-one” stage — shaping product approach in collaboration with PMs, Designers, and other engineers, defining the right technical strategy, and driving execution to delivery.

In Short

• Lead architecture for initiatives and mentor other engineers.
• Contribute across the stack with a focus on backend systems.
• Collaborate with Product and Design teams on technical approaches.
• Create technical approach documents defining architecture and execution plans.
• Ensure high quality and timely delivery of engineering work.
• Identify improvements for system stability and performance.
• Write maintainable code in Python and React.
• Guide teams through execution of agreed-upon approaches.
• Facilitate cross-functional alignment during design phases.
• Drive enhancements in engineering practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python/Django, PostgreSQL, and React/TypeScript.
• Strong system design skills and experience with complex systems.
• Comfortable with cloud-based environments (AWS preferred).
• Demonstrated alignment with collaborative culture.
• Passionate about leveraging AI for efficiency.
