Surgery Scheduler - Remote

Overview

The Surgery Scheduler is responsible for scheduling all surgical procedures, entering patient charges, and compiling statistical reports for management at Banner Health.

In Short

• Schedule surgical, cardiovascular, or obstetrical procedures.
• Enter patient charges, orders, and other information into the system.
• Compile and report statistical information to management.
• Act as a liaison for department staff, physicians, and patient families.
• Coordinate case times and maintain physician block time.
• Conduct charge management audits and reconcile charge packets.
• Answer phones and greet patients and visitors.
• Maintain confidentiality of all information.
• Work with minimal supervision and under stressful situations.
• Possess excellent organizational and communication skills.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• 2 years of medical clerical experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology required.
• Excellent organizational and human relations skills.
• Effective teamworking skills.
• Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.
• Ability to maintain accurate statistical records.
• Ability to gather data and produce reports.
• Must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card for specific locations.
• Preferred additional related education and/or experience.
