Overview

The Credentialing Specialist plays a vital role in the Banner Plans & Networks Team by providing leadership and support for the credentialing committee activities, ensuring the integrity and compliance of provider credentials.

In Short

  • Lead role in preparing documentation for credentialing committee reviews.
  • Conduct audits and maintain confidential records.
  • Correspond with various stakeholders including team members and leadership.
  • Prepare and distribute reports in a timely manner.
  • Facilitate credentialing committee meetings.
  • Oversee the credentialing appeals process.
  • Work independently under general supervision.
  • Utilize common office software for documentation and reporting.
  • Organize and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Support a drug-free work environment.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree and 3-5 years of credentialing experience.
  • Strong knowledge of business and/or healthcare.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow directions and work effectively with office software.
  • Capability to multi-task and maintain professionalism.
  • Preferred additional education/experience in a related field.
