Overview

The Customer Care Representative HME is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing calls for new home medical equipment service requests, ensuring accurate processing of orders and providing support to customers and referrals.

In Short

  • Handle incoming requests for referrals and orders.
  • Verify requests and initiate insurance verification.
  • Build equipment orders from patient medical records.
  • Provide instructions to patients and families.
  • Perform data entry of patient intake information.
  • Coordinate delivery of services and referrals.
  • Facilitate problem solving with various stakeholders.
  • Maintain communication of changing payer information.
  • Interact with internal departments and external sources.
  • Work in a centralized call center environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
  • Literacy and basic math skills required.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with office software and ability to learn new applications.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
