Manager, Software Engineering - Remote

Overview

The Avalara engineering team is looking for a software engineering manager to join our team! The AvaTax for Communications (AFC) team is responsible for the AFC tax determination and compliance product.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a management role.
• Strong technical foundation in building enterprise-grade applications.
• Expertise with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-based data warehouse platforms.
• Proven experience in big data systems and streaming architectures.
• Experience with AWS services, Docker, and CI/CD tools.
• Strong understanding of system security principles.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
