Indirect Tax Researcher - Remote

Overview

As our Indirect Tax Researcher, you will be involved in the development of international content to support Avalara's Trade Compliance tools which provide compliance requirements for assisting customers manage their import and export compliance requirements.

In Short

• Guide organizations understanding of regulatory and license requirements for cross border shipment compliance.
• Research trade compliance regulations focusing on import and export controls.
• Create expert level guidance for customer compliance with hazmat and international trade regulations.
• Evaluate and update compliance guidance documents and manuals.
• Be an expert on US, Canadian, and EU export regulations.
• Lead the development of compliance content strategies.
• Identify opportunities for automation and streamlining processes.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in trade controls with emphasis on export and import regulations.
• Research and technical writing experience.
• BA/BS Degree.
• Experience implementing trade compliance programs.
• Experience with US and Canadian export controls systems.
• Knowledge of export license management and compliance regulations.
• Understanding of import/export requirements.
