Indirect Tax Researcher - SUT - Remote

Overview

This is an Indirect Tax Research profile. We are looking for someone with expertise in researching tax law, reporting, and remittance requirements to keep our tax products in compliance with state, county, and local jurisdiction tax laws for use in Avalara Solutions.

In Short

• Research U.S. taxes, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Ensure content accuracy and timeliness for Sales and Use tax and Lodging Taxes.
• Navigate Tax Authority portals effectively.
• Collaborate with tax content research, product management, and engineering teams.
• Document research findings comprehensively.
• Accept additional responsibilities and work with US/UK timing for meetings.
• Lead automation and tax technology projects from planning to completion.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in indirect tax compliance.
• Master's in finance, MBA, Law degree, or related field.
• Experience in indirect tax/digital reporting research.
• Ability to convey complex e-invoicing concepts to non-technical partners.
• Legal research experience with tax regulations.
• Experience with tax technology solutions and process improvement.
