In Short

• Develop and implement global IP strategy for biotech products.
• Work closely with scientists to identify patentable inventions.
• Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications worldwide.
• Conduct prior art searches and prepare freedom-to-operate opinions.
• Conduct due diligence for licensing activities.
• Review and negotiate IP provisions in agreements.
• Provide legal advice on various IP matters.
• Assist with litigation-related matters.
• Work individually and in cross-functional teams.
• Remote work option available in the U.S.

Requirements

• J.D. or LL.M. degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction.
• Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
• 4+ years of experience in patent or IP law in biopharma.
• 10+ years preferred with experience in biotechnology.
• Advanced degree in life sciences is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Experience with patent preparation related to nucleic acids.
• Strong management and leadership skills.
• Able to work independently and meet deadlines.
