Software Engineer - Backend Services - Remote

In Short

• Lead the development of backend services for a government client.
• Design, develop, document, and deploy backend services.
• Focus on high availability, low latency, and scalability.
• Participate in user story elaboration and estimation.
• Build frequent, small releases to maintain team momentum.
• Collaborate with cross-functional feature teams.
• Maintain operational responsibility for team-owned services.
• Support SC clearance application if not held.
• Work in Agile and DevOps environments.
• Utilize Continuous Deployment pipelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a developer role.
• Proficient in JAVA programming and Spring Boot.
• Experience with Kafka or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of Scala and Spark.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, or S3.
• Good engineering practices including clean code and automated testing.
• Experience with GitHub/GitLab for source control.
• Familiarity with Test Driven Development.
• Experience in Big Data technologies and Public Cloud services (AWS).
