Academic Support Advisor I (Evening/Weekend) - Remote

Overview

The Academic Support Advisor I role is responsible for promoting student success through accurate and responsive advisement in the areas of academics, registration, persistence, and the student experience.

In Short

• Assist students with course registration and degree requirements.
• Advocate for student advising needs to ensure successful enrollment.
• Advise students on university policies and procedures.
• Monitor students to identify at-risk scenarios.
• Utilize systems to track enrollment and graduation information.
• Coach students to overcome barriers to persistence.
• Maintain understanding of academic programs and policies.
• Promote student self-service tools during advising.
• Engage students through various communication methods.
• Collaborate with departments to enhance student support.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree Required.
• 1+ year of experience in Higher Education Required.
• Outstanding customer service skills with related experience required.
• High level of interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be a self-starter with effective prioritization skills.
• PC skills in Microsoft Office and database applications.
• Experience with Student Information Systems is a plus.
