Associate General Counsel - R&D Innovation Legal - Remote

Overview

As an Associate General Counsel in the R&D Innovation Legal group, you will support AbbVie’s R&D organization in navigating enterprise-critical issues in an evolving legal and regulatory environment as we work to bring new, innovative products to patients.

• Develop and provide strategic counsel to senior leaders on legal regulatory issues.
• Provide legal support to Regulatory Affairs on critical regulatory filings.
• Educate legal departments on emerging laws and regulations.

• Advise senior executives and provide expert counsel.
• Work independently and lead collaborative cross-functional teams.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
• Located proximately to North Chicago, IL or Washington, DC metro area.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate and admission to the bar in at least one U.S. state.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in life sciences law.
• Expertise in FDA regulations and innovator drug development.
• Experience with government health authorities is desirable.
• Familiarity with the Inflation Reduction Act is a plus.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical laws and regulations.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong communication skills for senior leadership presentations.
