VP / SVP, Head of Legal, Compliance & Regulation — Americas - Remote

Overview

zerohash is seeking a VP / SVP, Head of Legal, Compliance & Regulation — Americas to serve as the company’s senior-most legal, compliance, and regulatory leader across the Western Hemisphere. Reporting directly to the Chief Legal Officer, this executive will own end-to-end accountability for zerohash’s compliance programs, licensing strategy, and regulatory relationships across Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Bermuda, and the United States.

In Short

• Lead zerohash’s licensing and regulatory strategy across North America and other Americas jurisdictions.
• Drive achievement of new licenses, registrations, and regulatory approvals.
• Manage relationships with regulatory bodies and licensing authorities.
• Design and implement risk-based compliance programs.
• Oversee MLROs and compliance staff across the Americas.
• Maintain knowledge of AML/BSA regulations and compliance frameworks.
• Serve as a key partner to senior leaders and contribute to risk strategy.
• Communicate with partners to support compliance activities.
• Build a high-performing compliance team across distributed geographies.
• Foster a culture of accountability and operational excellence.

Requirements

• J.D. or equivalent legal degree; active bar membership preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in legal, compliance, or regulatory roles.
• Experience in licensing and registration processes across multiple jurisdictions.
• Deep knowledge of AML/BSA regulations and compliance frameworks.
• Experience managing compliance teams across distributed locations.
• Proven ability to design risk-based compliance programs.
• Strong communication skills and executive presence.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Comfortable working in a remote-first environment.
