Overview

The Pharmacy Resident PGY1 position is responsible for optimizing patient care by promoting rational, safe, and cost-effective drug therapy, while participating in various pharmacy-related activities.

• Responsible for optimizing patient care through drug therapy.
• Performs duties of a Registered Pharmacist within licensure scope.
• Initiates and documents pharmacist interventions.
• Participates in patient care rounds.
• Contributes to departmental medication evaluations.
• Reviews medical/pharmacy literature regularly.
• Provides drug information to health professionals.
• Requires Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
• 0-1 year of pharmacy experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.

Requirements

• Doctor of Pharmacy required.
• Pharmacist state license required.
• 0-1 year pharmacy experience preferred.
• Experience with computer word processing required.
• Some experience with spreadsheets or databases preferred.
• Knowledge of pharmacy information systems required.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong communication skills.
