Mortgage Customer Outreach Specialist - Remote

Overview

This position is responsible for collecting on delinquent mortgage loans by calling borrowers who are in early stages of default (60 or less days delinquent).

In Short

• Initiate contact with consumers in early stages of default on mortgage loans.
• Collect past due payments while maintaining compliance with laws.
• Assess consumer’s ability to repay delinquency and arrange repayment plans.
• Handle inbound calls from internal departments and consumers.
• Communicate state-specific call compliance requirements.
• Identify and investigate suspect situations and escalate issues.
• Resolve problematic account situations and refer complex problems to supervisor.
• Understand account maintenance workflows.
• Adhere to compliance and operational risk controls.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Combined 2 years’ higher education and/or relevant work experience.
• Effective and professional communication skills over the phone.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software.
• Collections experience preferred.
