Financial Analyst II - Corporate Development - Remote

Overview

Corporate Development works closely with M&T’s business units and senior management to ensure a coordinated and consistent approach to the merger and acquisition (M&A) process. This role primarily focuses on financial analysis in support of potential internal and external capital investment opportunities through valuation, risk assessment, and deal structuring; as well as, peer analysis regarding performance, merger-related activities, and capital actions, to assist senior management in implementing the bank’s strategy.

• Assisting with the evaluation of potential M&A opportunities.
• Conducting financial and valuation analysis using various analytical tools.
• Providing cross training/support to new team members.
• Compiling facts, analyzing data, and providing input into recommendations.
• Executing and suggesting improvements to existing forecast models.
• Researching and compiling raw data into reports.
• Maintaining internal control standards and adhering to risk policies.
• Participating in training and development opportunities.
• Identifying risk-related issues needing escalation.
• Completing other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience in finance or related fields.
• Good knowledge of finance and accounting concepts.
• High level of PC competencies, especially in Excel.
• Basic knowledge of the banking industry.
• Ability to work collaboratively and professionally.
• Understanding of financial statements and key drivers.
• Awareness of risk and regulatory standards.
• Ability to train junior staff.
