Overview

Whatnot is the largest live shopping platform in North America and Europe, redefining e-commerce by blending community, shopping, and entertainment. We are seeking an Assistant Controller to lead core accounting functions and serve as a key thought partner to the Controller.

In Short

• Lead core revenue, general ledger, technical, and platform accounting workstreams.
• Own the global month-end close and financial audit processes.
• Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing accounting team.
• Establish and maintain accounting policies.
• Manage relationships with external auditors and technical accounting advisors.
• Partner with Finance on planning and reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners for compliance.
• Thrive in a fast-moving, hands-on environment.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience required.
• Proficiency in accounting software like NetSuite and SQL.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience across public and private sectors.
• Deep expertise with U.S. GAAP and public company reporting.
• Proven success building and leading high-performing teams.
• Extensive revenue accounting experience.
• Proficiency in NetSuite, ZIP, Stripe, PayPal, and SQL.
• Solid track record of cross-functional collaboration.
• A strong ownership mindset.
