Software Engineer - Fraud & Payments - Remote

Overview

This position is a hybrid on-site role based out of Wayfair's Boston, MA office, with remote work available on Mondays and Fridays.

In Short

• Join Wayfair's Storefront team to enhance customer shopping experiences.
• Work on the Fintech & Loyalty - Fraud & Pay team focusing on fraud technology and payment systems.
• Contribute to building scalable, reliable, and secure platforms.
• Utilize Java, DevOps, and microservice development skills.
• Drive high-impact solutions from inception to delivery.
• Collaborate with architects to transition from PHP monolith to Java microservices.
• Identify technical risks and propose solutions.
• Engage with product managers and designers to define project requirements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of engineering experience, preferably in eCommerce.
• Hands-on experience in high-growth environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Experience in designing large-scale cloud-based systems.
• Familiarity with observability tools and incident response.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Expertise in modern programming languages, especially Java.
• Experience with open source platforms like Kafka and Kubernetes.
