The Director of Fraud & Risk at Wave is a senior leader responsible for safeguarding the financial ecosystem across Canada and the US, focusing on payments, payroll, invoicing, and chargebacks.

In Short

• Define and monitor key performance indicators for the risk and fraud teams.
• Oversee a team of risk analysts and ensure operational excellence.
• Own and evolve the enterprise fraud and risk management framework.
• Manage the risk and fraud department’s budget.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or related field.
• 10 years of experience in fraud or risk roles in fintech or banking.
• Experience with fraud and risk management tools.
• Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or similar designation.
• Knowledge of Canadian and U.S. financial ecosystems.
• Understanding of AI/ML risk detection technologies.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
• Experience with chargeback operations.
• Previous experience scaling risk functions.
• Deep understanding of fraud prevention tools.
