The Directing Registered Nurse (DRN) role involves managing pediatric, palliative, and acute medically complex clients remotely, providing clinical direction and support to Personal Support Workers (PSWs) in a home care setting.

In Short

• Part-time position, 0.6 FTE, working nights and weekends.
• Manage care for clients with COPD and CHF.
• Direct Personal Support Workers (PSWs) in patient care.
• Utilize electronic documentation technology.
• Provide remote assessment and management of care services.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary health care team.
• Maintain accurate clinical records.
• Participate in ongoing improvement initiatives.
• Must have high-speed internet access and a private office area.
• Eligible for security screening from the Government of Canada.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• CNA Certificate in Palliative Care or relevant training.
• Extensive experience in Pediatric Care.
• Recent experience with COPD and CHF patients.
• Advanced assessment skills and critical thinking abilities.
• Experience in community-based health care is an asset.
• Proficient in digital and electronic health systems.
• Valid CPR C / First Aid certification required.
• Access to a personal vehicle and valid driver’s license.
• Ability to speak French is an asset.
