Cost Accounting Manager - Remote

Overview

The Cost Accounting Manager is responsible for developing and improving the company’s cost of goods sold and inventory accounting processes, serving as a key partner to various teams within the organization.

In Short

• Own the entire standard costing process including periodic rate reviews and cost audits.
• Manage month-end variances and own the capitalized variance capture process.
• Partner with Plant Controller and FP&A to understand overhead rates and variances.
• Work closely with teams to ensure accurate production and inventory transactions.
• Drive improvements in costing accuracy and forecasting.
• Support year-end audit activities and participate in physical inventory.
• Continuously evaluate and streamline processes and reports.
• Develop and monitor internal control processes to ensure compliance.
• Act as a subject matter expert on costing and process improvement.
• Provide leadership and training to the cost team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting; MBA or CPA preferred.
• 5-7 years of experience in cost and inventory accounting, preferably in the food and beverage industry.
• Ability to travel 10-15% for company events and meetings.
• Excellent Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP systems, D365 is a plus.
• Attention to detail and a drive for zero defect work.
