Overview

The Healthcare Posting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely posting of all payments received from payers, patients, and other sources. This role requires extensive knowledge of explanation of benefits (EOBs), electronic remittance advice (ERAs), electronic funds transfers (EFTs), lockbox processing, and all aspects of healthcare reimbursement. The Posting Supervisor will ensure compliance with regulatory standards and state and federal payment practices while optimizing payment posting workflows for efficiency and accuracy.

In Short

  • Supervise and lead the payment posting team in processing payments, adjustments, and denials.
  • Monitor workflows for lockbox processing, EFT, and ERA transactions.
  • Conduct routine audits of posting activities for compliance.
  • Remain current on regulatory and payer-specific guidelines.
  • Train, mentor, and support the payment posting team.
  • Develop training materials and process documentation.
  • Generate and analyze payment and adjustment reports.
  • Identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Revenue Cycle team and billing departments.
  • Serve as a point of contact for escalations related to payment posting.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of experience in payment posting.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in ERA and EFT processing.
  • Familiarity with lockbox operations and payment posting software.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • In-depth understanding of payer reimbursement and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a remote team.
