Piping Draftsperson / Coordinator - Remote

Overview

The Piping Draftsperson / Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating piping projects, including material handling, checking drawings, assisting with quotes, and ensuring adherence to VDC procedures.

In Short

• Coordinate project and material handling from manufacturing to installation.
• Check drawings and bills of materials produced in-house and by GDC.
• Assist with daily coordination meetings and project reviews.
• Utilize VDC PM Division procedures and policies.
• Prepare piping layout drawings and isometric drawings using Revit.
• Maintain customer contact and assist in training of junior staff.
• Perform project kick-off meetings and maintain project status updates.
• Prepare and coordinate Basic Engineering Packages for project transfers.
• Assist departments with VDC Drawing Quotes and customer care.
• Travel to jobsites for field measurements as needed.

Requirements

• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in drafting technology preferred.
• 3-5 years of engineering/design experience required.
• Knowledge of piping specification engineering is a plus.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office required.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Project management skills preferred.
• Less than 5% travel required.
• Knowledge of Revit beneficial.
• Ability to assist in training Draftspersons and Interns.
