Senior Software Engineer - Remote

Overview

VergeSense is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to enhance their Occupancy Intelligence Platform, which aids companies in optimizing their workplace strategies through accurate occupancy data.

In Short

• This is a full-stack individual contributor role with significant impact.
• You will be responsible for technical roadmaps and collaborate with various departments.
• Act as a strategic thought partner for leaders on application feature delivery.
• Coach and mentor junior engineers on the team.
• Work across the software stack on the core platform.
• Drive core customer-facing features and analytics visualizations.
• Manage high-volume data and optimize large-scale systems.
• Utilize Docker and Kubernetes for production environments.
• Experience with Kafka is preferred but not required.
• Report to the Director, Software: Data and Analytics.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in software development.
• Proven ability to lead projects and communicate effectively.
• Expertise in Ruby/Ruby on Rails or similar technologies.
• Extensive experience with APIs and managing large data volumes.
• Strong debugging, testing, and documentation skills.
• Skilled in optimizing job processing and database performance.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools.
• Experience with pub/sub systems is a plus.
